Lighting & Video Design
Morgan Embry is a lighting and video designer dual-based in Los Angeles, California and Portimão, Portugal. She strives for incorporation of diverse and interactive technology into her work, utilizing mixed-media approaches for expanding and developing the world of each story in immersive applications.
She is an active designer for dance and theatre, acting as resident Lighting Designer for Willing Kompany immersive collective and Festival Ballet Theatre, and company Projection Designer for Counter-Balance Theatre. Projection designs for productions such as Biddy Mason and Madame Modjeska's Fairytale drew audience members into the shows' mesmerizing experiences alongside the performers. She designs projections for Opera, Utah Opera and Opera Chapman being among her collaborators. These Chapman Opera designs include the award winning Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, which was awarded 1st Place by National Opera Association (NOA), the most prestigious collegiate opera–awarding organization in the US.
Morgan designs internationally for live music; Vance Joy, Bryce Vine, Lauren Spencer Smith, Pixel Grip, and Alex Warren are among the collaborators with whom she regularly creates. Her designs have been experienced by thousands of concert-goers and live performance lovers across Europe, North America, Australia, and South America, having been hosted on world-famous stages such as: Radio City Music Hall, Sydney Opera House, Alexandra Palace, Wembley Arena, The Met in Philadelphia, The Hollywood Bowl, Walt Disney Concert Hall, Ryman Auditorium, Red Rocks Amphitheater, Denver Film Festival, and Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Her designs have been featured in publications such as TYSM Magazine and Marika Magazine.
